How to get to El Nido

With direct flight to El Nido Lio Airport with the only company who operates,  AirSwift, from Manila, Cebu and other cities in the Philippines, depending on the season.

 

Otherwise, you can fly directly to Puerto Princesa, Palawan, and from there take a van will take you to El Nido in about 5 hours. Although this is the longest journey, it is also the cheapest.

What is the best time to visit El Nido?

During the dry season which is within the months of November to May. In this period there is the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan”, which affects from November to February, bringing cooler and dry weather. Expected temperatures are within 28°C in January, increasing gradually until 32°C in May.

 

The rest of the year can be also pleasant but with high humidity, as climate gets into wet season, with possible rainfalls within July to September.

Healthcare in El Nido

We recommend you to check at home for a Health Insurance and with your country, what are the recommended vaccinations. Keep in mind that in very remote areas there is still Dengue and Malaria.

 

For primary care, there is in town the Adventist Clinic Palawan. The closest hospital to El Nido is El Nido Community Hospital, direction north around 30 minutes away by car. Also going to the south, the Taytay District Hospital, about 50 kilometers away, or to Puerto Princesa, or even Manila for the most serious cases.

 

In addition, you can easily find antipyretic, cough, or cold medications, in any pharmacy of El Nido.
